French rail
operator SNCF will no longer allow passengers to change their tickets or get
them reimbursed at the last minute free of charge.
The company had allowed
passengers to change their ticket or get a refund until the day of departure
without a fee. The rules had been changed to allow passengers who did not
have the health pass introduced on 9 August to reconsider their journey.
From Monday 13 September,
passengers who wish to change their ticket or get a refund must now do so at least
three days before departure or they will face a fee. For TGV Inoui services
this fee is €15; for Intercité services, the fee is 40 per cent of the cost of
the ticket. Ouigo fares cannot be changed or refunded.
