French rail operator SNCF Voyageurs has extended its intermodal ‘Train + Air’ service to include Ouigo trains serving Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport.
This integrated offer allows travellers to book both rail and air tickets in a single reservation.
The addition of Ouigo – SNCF’s low-cost, high-speed train service – adds rail connections to Lyon airport from seven key stations: Marseille Saint-Charles, Aix-en-Provence TGV, Avignon TGV, Nîmes Centre and Nîmes Pont du Gard, Montpellier Saint-Roch, and Montpellier Sud de France.
Following implementation at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports, Lyon Saint-Exupéry is now the third airport to offer the Train + Air programme. Participation by airlines at Lyon airport is voluntary. Current partners include Air Canada and Corsair.
Intermodal bookings are processed through the participating airlines, according to SNCF, with pricing dependent on flight selection. All reservations include additional baggage and Ouigo wifi access, the rail operator said.
In addition to Air Canada and Corsair, existing airline partners across the Train + Air programme include Air Austral, Air France, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Singapore Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines.
