Eurostar has announced it will resume its services from
London to Rotterdam and Amsterdam on 9 July and to Marne-la-Vallee on 2 August.
The services were temporarily halted as travel restrictions
went into effect across Europe, but as more countries start reopening their
borders and with the UK government preparing to announce a list of countries
with which it has established travel corridors, Eurostar joins a number of
other travel providers in restarting operations.
The London-Amsterdam via Rotterdam route will resume with
one train per day departing St Pancras at 1104 and arriving in Amsterdam
Central at 1611 local time.
In addition, Eurostar has introduced new flexible fares for
all bookings made from 1 July to 31 December 2020. All fares can now be exchanged
with no fee up to 14 days before departure.
Eurostar announced last month that it will not operate its
new services to the South of France this summer or in 2021 due to low demand
and difficulties in implementing new hygiene measures, which include enhanced
cleaning procedures throughout the train, checking water tank levels more often
to ensure passengers can wash their hands frequently and disinfecting high-touch
areas such as tables, handles and grab bars. All passengers are required to
wear a face covering on all Eurostar services.
