BCD Travel and Bernhard Schulte Ship Management, or BSM, have created a JV that allows clients to access marine crew travel services and BCD's travel service offerings from the same supplier. BCD centralized and globalized its energy, resources and marine service line in March. BSM is a global marine travel services company that will aid BCD's efforts to scale up and become a large player in the ERM arena, while BSM also will benefit from BCD's network, said Ross Pratt, BCD VP of global business development for ERM.
BSM brings to the table 30 years of experience in the marine travel sector, its MariApps crew management applications and digital solutions for efficient marine travel and logistics, in-country services in key shipping locations and further access to marine and offshore content. BCD adds its TripSource trip management platform—which includes itinerary management, traveler messaging, safety information and hotel booking—and its DecisionSource analytics and intelligence platform.
