U.S. private jet operator Flexjet plans to expand operations
to Europe by the end of the year. Flexjet has signed a letter of intent to
acquire a European operator and projects it will begin operations in
Europe in the fourth quarter. Initially, it will have a pan-European fleet of
eight aircraft based in London, Paris and two other cities to be named.
The company will pair its new European fleet with its
existing long-range fleet to provide deeper international service for its U.S.
shareowners. In Europe, it will offer on-demand membership on a per-mile cost,
as well as "tailored international programs that appeal to a segment of
the market looking to exit whole-aircraft ownership," according to
Flexjet.
As part of the expansion, Flexjet named former
Bombardier vice president of sales Raymond Jones managing director of its
international operations.
