Anita Richiger, manager of administration and infrastructure, Infront Sports & Media is attending the Business Travel Show as a hosted buyer. Here she tells BTiQ why she joins the programme and her top tip for visiting the show.
What do you like most about the Hosted Buyer programme?
It is useful that all the business travel providers can be visited in the same place. You get a lot of news about what's going on in the travel business. We can find out if our company is well covered in all areas and what we can do better.
Does travel and accommodation make it easier to get sign off to attend?
Yes that makes it very easy, and because all the hosted buyers are in the same place there is time for some very useful exchanges.
Do you attend the masterclasses and why do you think they are an important part of the programme?
Yes the masterclasses are very important. There are very good speakers and you find that lots of other travel buyers have the same challenges. You hear good input and very good questions from other buyers; unfortunately there is not enough time to attend all of them. Even if you think it's a topic that is not of interest to your company, there is always something you learn or leave thinking about that makes it interesting.
What is your top tip for travel buyers attending Business Travel Show?
Definitely visit the masterclasses and learn what's new in the travel industry. They help me to ensure the company has the best possible travel programme and that we are covered in all areas.
Also, take the opportunities to exchange with other travel managers. The Hosted Buyer programme presents more chances to do this.
