EASYJET is to expand into the Baltic States with flights to Tallinn (Estonia) and Riga (Latvia). Tallinn will be served from both Stansted (starts 1 November) and Berlin Sch”nefeld (starts 27 October) whilst Riga will only be from the German capital (starting 18 November). These are easyJet's first services to this part of the former Soviet east made possible with Estonia and Latvia joining the European Union on 1 May 2004. The airline has announced that it will cease flying to Milan Linate from Stansted from the end of October 2004 citing slot problems. However services from Gatwick and Paris Orly to Linate continue.
