BMIBABY, which prides itself on the use of the word ”tiny”, has got together with what can only be termed a minuscule carrier, using aircraft significantly smaller than its own. The East Midlands based airline has come to an arrangement with Air Wales for that airline to operate the routes between Cardiff and Prestwick, and Cardiff to Cork. The agreement, which comes into effect on 28 March 2004, will see Air Wales aircraft operating the flights using 48-seat ATR aircraft with bmibaby marketing and selling the flights online. The deal should be good news for passengers on both routes, which were clearly not viable with bmibaby”s 150-seat Boeing 737s. The frequencies are improved.
