BMI REGIONAL has introduced a four times daily service from Leeds Bradford to London City. The airline is wet leasing an ATR42 from the Air Atlantique Group, splendidly painted to encourage Yorkshire travellers to use the parent company's new services from Manchester to the Caribbean. The new two-class flights to LCY are expected to quickly prove a fast alternative into London from the northeast, with a flight time of just over one hour. This is BMI's first foray into LCY since the demise of London City Airways/EuroCity Express in 1990. Also new is MetroConnect 737 a dedicated bus service linking Bradford Interchange, Bradford Forster Square and Shipley rail stations, Guiseley and Yeadon with Leeds Bradford International Airport. The buses, which are equipped with luggage space for airline passengers, will run every half hour Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sundays.
