WORLDSPAN, the travel industry technology resource, has been sold by its three airline owners Delta Air Lines, Northwest Airlines and American Airlines (who gained its interest via the TWA buyout). Buyers are a new venture capitalist group called Travel Transaction Processing Corp a partnership created by Citigroup and Teachers Merchant Bank. Rakesh Gangwal, a former CEO of the then US Air, and a travel industry stalwart, is chairman, president and chief executive officer, with former Worldspan president and chief executive officer Paul J.
