WIZZ AIR, the latest European budget airline, has signed an agreement with Budapest Ferihegy Airport for it to become the carrier”s second European base after Katowice (Poland). On 1 May the carrier plans to inaugurate flights from Budapest and Katowice to more than 10 destinations in Europe. The launch of the new services will coincide with the accession of 10 CEE countries with a combined population of 70m into the European Union. (see ABTN 16 February).
