GENEVA AIRPORT last week offered for the first time an experimental web-service enabling passengers to check their flight status. Timed to take place throughout the prestigious ITU Telecom World 2003 exhibition the prototype system will continue in operation until the end of the first week in November. The pilot service monitors all flights to and from Geneva, using new methods of presenting existing flight information based on recognisable aviation conventions and the domain ”dot-aero”. Passengers need to enter the flight number (eg BA723.aero) or the flight details (lhr-gva.aero) or the airport (gva.airport.aero). It works too. Try it!
