VIRGIN ATLANTIC, always innovative, has extended the times of what it calls its ”Twilight Check In” at Gatwick Airport allowing passengers to now check in for their morning flight between midday and 2100 the day before. It really does speed up movement through the airport, luggage disposed of at leisure, leaving just a carry-on overnight bag to go in the aircraft cabin. Since the original Twilight Check In was launched in 2000, the service has become increasingly popular with approximately 20% of passengers flying out of Gatwick, now using the service every day. In the Caribbean, ”Check In and Chill Out” is popular with passengers who can check in for their flight, when checking out of their hotel. In Florida, Virgin Atlantic offers a check in facility in Downtown Disney, enabling passengers to check themselves and their bags in at a kiosk on the day of departure and spend the last day of their holiday in the theme park, without having to rush back to the hotel for their luggage.
