VIRGIN ATLANTIC and British Airways appear to be in a horns locked situation at the very top, but at a working level at least there is harmony. Together with Air France, BA last week proposed the membership of Virgin to the Association of European Airlines (
AEA), the trade body representing 30 of the major European Airlines, which was carried unanimously. Whilst in the past Virgin has tended to plough a highly individual line in negotiations with international bodies, clearly as it has matured as an airline and operation. An overall approach represented by mutual interests is the way forward.
