MILAN is to have a change of airports for Virgin Express passengers. From 1 June 2005, the Belgian based budget carrier will discontinue flights on the routes Brussels ” Milan (Linate) and Amsterdam ” Milan (Linate) then re-introduce the same schedules to Orio al Serio, about 30 miles east from the city centre of Milan. Virgin Express says that it has been trying for years to obtain take off and landing slots at Linate which would allow for daily return traffic, without success. Recently the airline was offered these convenient slots at Milan ” Orio al Serio. It is now going twice daily.
