VIRGIN BLUE will begin direct services between Adelaide and both Alice Springs and Hobart from November 2004. The non-stop flights will initially operate three times to Hobart and four times weekly to Alice Springs. The airline says it will monitor progress over the summer with a view to extending the schedule year round if there is sufficient demand. Virgin Blue”s newest Tasmanian service follows the announcement of ongoing daily direct flights between Sydney ” Hobart and Sydney ” Launceston, commencing 2 and 4 September respectively.
