Virgin Atlantic is to add a third daily flight between Heathrow and Los Angeles, starting May 2017.
The additional frequency will depart Heathrow at 1300, landing into Los Angeles at 1610, with the return leg leaving the US city at 1830 and arriving back into London at 1255 the following day.
The new service adds to the existing 1010 and 1525 departures from Heathrow, and the 1545 and 2055 services from Los Angeles. All flights are being operated by Virgin’s B787-9 Dreamliner.
Virgin is adding the new flights in conjunction with its joint venture partner Delta, and said that the move “reflects the joint venture’s strong ambitions to listen to customers and provide the best service and experience possible across the Atlantic”.
From May 2017 the two carriers will co-locate within terminal 2 at LAX, “making connections between flights seamless for customers who want to travel onwards to over 20 Delta destinations, including Mexico, Hawaii and other parts of the US”.
