VIETNAM is now linked directly with Europe following the signing of an agreement between Air France and Vietnam Airlines which calls for the operation of 11 non-stop flights per week between the two countries. Air France has introduced a five times per week service between Paris and Ho Chi Minh City operating three class A340-300 aircraft whilst Vietnam Airlines is to offer six flights per week using Boeing 777-200s (see left), also in a three cabin configuration. Flight time is just under 12 hours between CDG and the former Saigon saving two and a half hours on the previous services which operated via Bangkok.
