VLM, the privately-owned Antwerp-based airline, which is the largest carrier at London City Airport, has purchased the entire share holding of fellow Fokker 50 operator, Holland”s Denim Airways. The vehicle for the takeover is Rekkof CEO Japp Jacobson”s Panta Holdings. Besides a fleet of 15 Fokker 50s, Denim Airways also operates five Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft. The airline is essentially an charter company but also has a scheduled operation based at Zurich serving Bologna, Florence and Venice. In a joint statement, it is emphasised that the two companies will continue trading ”as is”, with the present management teams.
