UNITED AIRLINES, still suffering from serious financial problems, has gone on the offensive, marketing-wise, with the announcement that the airline will launch a new three-cabin Boeing 757 premium domestic service. Officially known as ”p.s. SM”, the new offering will give passengers more space and comfort, and a superior level of service. Initially the product will be available on the New York ” Los Angeles and New York ” San Francisco routes. United First will offer a 60” seat pitch and lie flat seats. In business class it is 48” seat pitch, whilst coach is now called Economy Plus with amongst other enhancements a 34” seat pitch. ”p.s. SM”, will begin to be rolled out in mid-October with completion by the end of the year.
