The US Department of Homeland Security last week changed its requirements regarding carry-on items for both domestic and international flights. Passengers can now take on drinks and other items purchased in the secure areas of the airport.
They can also take travel-size lip gloss, hand lotion and other toiletries of 90 ml or less that will be subject to screening and then placed in a small clear plastic bag. Canada has also adopted the latest change, and the American officials noted that they were in discussion with Britain and other European nations to ensure common standards.
