Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines each
have introduced free name change policies for corporate customers.
Delta, along with partners Virgin Atlantic and Air
France-KLM, has created a corporate waiver for travel managers and travel agents,
with which they can waive name change fees without using a waiver code, calling
sales support, or visiting Delta Professional, according to sales operations
and development VP Kristen Shovlin. The waiver applies to tickets issued on or
before 14 April for domestic travel from 1 March through 30 June and
international travel from 25 February through 30 June. The tickets must have
been issued with a corporate ticket designator – meaning its designator begins
with "X" or "C" – and tickets on Virgin Atlantic or Air
France-KLM ticket stock must have a US point of sale.
The waiver allows only one name change without a fee, and
travel must be completed by 31 May 2022.
American's name change fee waiver applies to customers with
active corporate travel agreements for tickets purchased on or before 31 May
and allows one free name change. Tickets must include a valid corporate
designation in the endorsement box or tour code field. In addition to the name
change fee waiver, American has a change fee waiver on tickets bought before 31
May for travel between 1 March and 30 September, which can be used for travel
through 31 December 2021.
United Airlines is allowing corporate customers to change
names via the Jetstream tool. The carrier also is enabling them to move
ticketing to a UATP card if a company has a large number of tickets and does
not want to make changes on a ticket-by-ticket basis, according to a United
spokesperson.
