US AIRWAYS is to commence Philadelphia ” Glasgow for the summer season of 2004 and is also introducing two new one-stop Caribbean connections for passengers from the UK. From Saturday 13 December US Airways transatlantic flights from Gatwick and Manchester to Philadelphia will connect with a new service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, leaving the US at 1745 and arriving on the island at 2238. This service will operate on Saturdays only. Passengers from Manchester have a 1 hour 45 minutes connection in the US, while from Gatwick the connection time is 2 hours 30 minutes. The following day, Sunday December 14, a new daily flight from Philadelphia to Cancun, Mexico, begins, leaving at 1800 and arriving at 2035. Passengers from London and Manchester will also be able to connect to this service. The return flights from both destinations also connect to the departing transatlantic flights from Philadelphia. One added benefit is that passengers will not even have to change terminals as all US Airways European and Caribbean flights use the newly opened state-of-the-art international terminal at Philadelphia. US Airways already offers connections from Gatwick and Manchester to another Caribbean destination ” San Juan, Puerto Rico.
