US AIRWAYS is to launch its In-flight Caf” service on most domestic flights of 700 miles or more from July onwards. In north America the airlines are not noted for the quality of what they call Coach Class, or economy. The new service brings it into line with the offerings of some of the European budget carriers. The airline has been testing the service in select markets since 19 March, 2003. US Airways customers traveling in Coach Class on these flights will have the opportunity to purchase restaurant-quality deli meals onboard. The Blueberry Madness breakfast meal comprises a blueberry-walnut muffin, a fresh honeydew and mandarin orange salad, yogurt with low-fat granola on the side, and a bottle of spring water, for $7. Customers will have two choices for lunch and dinner, both for $10. First Class passengers on In-flight Caf”-designated flights will continue to receive complimentary meals. http://www.usairways.com
