AIRBUS A380 orders continue to be announced, albeit at a fairly slow rate. Whilst no US-based passenger airline has committed to the giant, the major cargo operators seem to see the aircraft as the way forward with Georgia-based UPS formally signing a contract for ten. UPS currently flies a fleet of 47 A300 Freighters. UPS is the third US-based customer for the A380. Including the UPS deal, there are 159 firm orders for A380s from 16 customers ” including 27 freighters.
