THOMAS COOK has reversed the decision to rebrand its entire fleet of aircraft in its own house colours and instead will reintroduce the well-recognised Condor brand in the German market. The leading European leisure group had believed that the Thomas Cook brand would help it develop its interests in Germany, but it has instead chosen to return to the Condor brand, relaunching the airline with a different focus and new look. The new Condor will inherit around 50 years of experience from its predecessor but will position itself in the market as a budget airline, offering long-haul fares to the US, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia from just 99 euros. The tour operator market in Germany has been in decline for the past two years and by focussing more on seat-only deals, Thomas Cook believes Condor will be well positioned to achieve annual growth.
