THAI is the latest airline to get on the ultra long-range bandwagon. With its Bangkok ” New York service now established the airline last week introduced a three flights per week from Bangkok to Los Angeles, again with an Airbus A340-500. A departure time at LAZ of 2230 means that the aircraft lands at Bangkok at 0640, two days later, after a scheduled flight time of 17 hours 10 minutes. The ”plane is configured in three classes with 215 seats: 60 in Royal Silk business class, 42 in premium economy and 113 seats in economy class.
