TED, the budget airline division of coming out of bankruptcy United Airlines, is to install over the wing air bridges at Denver International Airport that will reach the rear doors.Ted claims this in an industry first although British charter and the new breed of so-called low fare airlines, operate a similar actual boarding system but allowing passengers to brave the elements and cross the apron entering by the front or rear. Five bridge systems will be installed in 2006, with future systems planned throughout the network in 2007. Ted says that use of the air bridges will half the turnaround times.
