SWISS has become the second major airline to jump onto the long haul small jet all business class bandwagon joining Lufthansa who are successfully operating from D”sseldorf to both Chicago and Newark New York, and Munich to Newark. Swiss has contracted with the same product (aircraft and crew) supplier as Lufthansa, PrivatAir, to operate a six days per week service between Zurich and Newark which, with its fine terminal facilities and easy road connection to downtown Manhattan, is proving ideal for this type of operation. A 56-seat Boeing BBJ will be used for the service with an introduction date of 15 January 2005.
