SWISS INTERNATIONAL AIR LINES is to switch its Base service from Heathrow to London City Airport. Swiss will continue to fly three times a day from Heathrow to Basel until the end of October when British Airways takes over the routes following the end of a codeshare arrangement. From 30 August the airline will in effect resurrect the service successfully operated by its Crossair predecessor joining four flights a day it operates to Zurich. These will be in addition to seven flights a day Heathrow ” Zurich, 10 a day Heathrow ” Geneva, three Birmingham ” Zurich, two Birmingham ” Basel and two a day from Manchester to both Zurich and Basel. British Airways will continue to codeshare on the London City ” Geneva route.
