SWISS INTERNATIONAL AIR LINES, the former Swissair, has lost its pilot, quite literally. Chief Executive Andre Dose has unexpectedly quit citing a probe into a Crossair crash in 2001 that killed 24 people. The affable Dose, a former Captain with Crossair, was a prot”g” of Crossair founder Moritz Suter, and rather like Suter has found that attempting to run Swiss was perhaps a step too far. In the meantime Swiss Chairman and KLM veteran Pieter Bouw will take over the helm for an interim period. Two years after launch Swiss is still making losses.
