Airline Swiss is to offer premium economy on more long-haul routes as the cabin is installed on its Airbus A340-300 aircraft.
The carrier, which is part of Lufthansa Group, is equipping all four of its Airbus A340s with the new cabin by April. The first aircraft to have premium economy fitted flew between Zurich and Johannesburg earlier this week.
The premium economy seat, which offers a pitch of almost one metre, will be available to book from April on routes from Zurich to Johannesburg, Hong Kong and Chicago. The cabin is already featured on Swiss’ Boeing 777-300ER fleet following a rollout last year.
Swiss chief commercial officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour said: “The highly positive feedback that we’ve received from our customers – on the greater seating comfort, the enhanced service, the wider choice of meals and the quality of the food – has only strengthened our resolve to offer this top-quality product on more of our routes.”
