EMBRAER has confirmed that SWISS, which in its former guise of Crossair was the launch customer for the EMB 170 series aircraft, has postponed its firm order for Embraer 170s and 195s. The Brazilian manufacturer says it sees no difficulty in re-allocating the slots. Certification is imminent with Alitalia the first carrier to place the aircraft in service. Embraer does not anticipate a reduction to its forecast of 160 aircraft to be delivered in 2004.
