VUELING is the name of a new Spanish airline, based in Barcelona, which takes off on 1 July. Funding has been obtained from an impressive list of backers including David Barger, founder and president of JetBlue, and Fossil Watches president Tom Kartsotis. Operating from the well-located main Barcelona airport of El Prat (15 minutes from city centre), the airline will use Airbus A320 aircraft for its services, which initially include Brussels, Ibiza, Palma, and Paris CDG. The same destinations are served from Valencia.
