SOUTHWEST Airlines, the world”s most successful low-cost airline, has dismissed escalating fuel prices as being the industry”s biggest threat and turned its fire on too many seats in the market. The carrier”s chief executive Gary Kelly made the comments as he prepared to take on United Airlines at its Denver hub with a series of new routes and lower fares. However, Kelly did admit that his fuel bill next year could top $500 million.
