SKYBUS, probably the British mainland”s smallest and least known airline has celebrated its 20th anniversary. Mind you it needed the good folks at Southampton Airport to remind the notoriously low profile people based at Land”s End of the event. The Skybus service is centred on the Scillies where the airline”s owner, the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company, has a virtual monopoly on transport (except that is for the helicopter service from Penzance to St Mary”s). Using Twin Otter and Islander aircraft the airline operates to Bristol, Exeter, Newquay, Plymouth and Southampton airports.
