SINGAPORE AIRLINES is the latest carrier to select Connexion by Boeing as its provider of high-speed Internet-based on-board communications, a system pioneered by Lufthansa. JAL has also announced a commitment to the system which looks like quickly becoming the standard for both Boeing and Airbus equipment. In addition to the data services, Connexion by Boeing will provide SIA customers with real-time television. Installation of the service is expected to begin by the third quarter of 2004. SIA plans to offer the Connexion by Boeing broadband service on all long haul flights.
