Singapore Airlines’s new A380 aircraft featuring updated cabin products debuted on its Singapore Changi airport to Heathrow route over the weekend.
The airline revealed its new cabin designs in November, with its First class cabins featuring separate full-flat beds and adjustable, reclining leather seats. The suites can be booked as singles or doubles for couples.
The A380 landed in Heathrow at 0910 GMT on 17 February. To mark the event, a light show took place on the tarmac as the aircraft landed, followed by a dragon dance performance for passengers at the Singapore Airlines check-in counters and at the flight’s departure gate in celebration of Lunar New Year.
The airline says the A380 will initially operate as flight SQ322 from Singapore to London on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From 7 April, the new aircraft are scheduled to operate as SQ317 from London to Singapore on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The aircraft have also been deployed on the airline’s services to Hong Kong, with additional destinations due to be revealed in the coming months.
