Singapore Airlines and Latin American carrier Avianca have signed a codeshare deal
The codeshare, which will begin from September, will see Singapore Airlines (SIA) place its SQ code on Avianca’s flights from Heathrow and Barcelona to Bogota in Colombia.
Conversely, Avianca will place its AV code on SIA’s flights between Singapore and both Barcelona and Heathrow.
Tan Kai Ping, senior vice president marketing planning for Singapore Airlines, said: “This new codeshare agreement with Star Alliance partner Avianca provides our customers with seamless connections to Bogota, the financial and commercial centre of Colombia.”
The codeshare flights will be “progressively” made available for sale across both airlines’ sales channels from next month.
Juan Ricardo Castillo, Avianca’s managing director of alliances and airline partners, added: “The signing of this codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines, allows us to expand our route network and to offer our customers an even broader connection with the world.”
