SCOTLAND continues to be the most generous of all the four home countries when it comes to providing funds for air routes. According to the Scottish Executive web site it has partially funded 17 routes, some of them already closed down. The latest ventures are from Eastern Airways, who have got in first, and BMI Regional each shortly due to launch new routes from Aberdeen to the obscure Dutch city of Groningen. This whole issue will clearly be something to discuss when the Scottish parliament eventually opens its new ”400m (?) home!
