Subscribers to Sabre Travel Network, the global distribution system (GDS) provider owned by Sabre Holdings, can now book helicopter airport connection services in New York
US Helicopter Corporation, which provides scheduled ”eight minute airport shuttle” services between New York's heliports and airports, has signed a multi-year agreement to distribute its fares and inventory through Sabre's GDS, which is available to both online and offline travel agencies.
The deal will provide US Helicopter and its partner airlines - Delta at JFK Airport and Continental at Newark Liberty - with interline electronic ticketing capabilities, allowing for helicopter shuttle services to be booked seamlessly with Delta and Continental flights, although separate bookings can still be made for flights with other airlines.
”We see this as a great benefit to high-end leisure travellers and especially to corporate travellers, the corporations they work for and the agencies that manage their travel arrangements,” said Sabre Travel Network CEO, Hugh Jones.
”For the corporate traveller, it means saving time when the overall day of travel has typically gotten a bit longer due to increased security requirements. For the corporation, it means integrated traveller policies even in the case of VIP travel and for the agencies, it provides additional customer service and a streamlined process for providing this service.”
