COPENHAGEN is the latest European destination to join the London City Airport network, with SAS announcing the start of twice daily flights from 30 October. The airline is the first to benefit from the licensing of the 72-seat Bombardier Dash 400 into the airport, now describing itself as pivotal to the 2012 Olympics. Services will be double daily, with a single rotation on a Saturday. This new route will complement SAS existing six daily services from Heathrow to Copenhagen and will bring its weekly services from London to the Danish capital up to 53. SAS will operate full business and economy services on all flights, in addition to its unique premium economy service, Economy Flex. British Airways franchise carrier Sun Air will also introduce a twice-daily London City ” Copenhagen service at the same time. (see ABTN 20 June)
