Hard on the heels of much objection to its Aer Lingus takeover proposal, and also in-flight telephone ideas, Ryanair”s plans to introduce new flights between European and Moroccan destinations have been thwarted because of EU regulation delays. The airline has confirmed that flights from Marseille and Frankfurt to Fes, Marrakesh and Oujda will not start until December 1 at the earliest, although services from Luton to Fes and Marrakesh will begin next month as planned.
Ryanair has blamed the European Union for its decision to put off the signing of an agreement to create a common European airspace, which will include Morocco, until November 17. Passengers who have booked seats for flights before December 1 are entitled to a ticket exchange or refund. The airline said flights from the UK came under a separate accord by London and Rabat, and that the opening of Marseille as a crew and aircraft base will go ahead on November 8 as planned.
