RYANAIR, the very profitable airline that never pays its shareholders dividends, is now asking staff to take a pay freeze as part of a cost-cutting drive according to reports. This would apply to all levels of employees, including management, and would save the company between E3m and E4m per year. Ryanair, normally the most forthcoming of carriers, say that it is an internal matter. The airline has also confirmed continuation of its Charleroi operation but this is subject to approval by the EU Commission
