RYANAIR has reluctantly agree to repay ”2.8m in what is now considered unlawful state subsidies paid by the local government at Charleroi airport, subject to an appeal. Earlier this year the European Commission ruled that discounts on landing fees and ground services at the publicly owned airport south of Brussels were illegal under EU anti-trust rules.
