RYANAIR for once must be making Rod Eddington happy (see Alitalia above) with a major expansion in the Italian heartland, which will certainly have an effect on the national carrier. The Irish airline has announced seven new routes from Bergamo (Orio al Serio and 40 miles from Milan) to Eindhoven, Liverpool, Newcastle, Oslo, Seville, Valencia and Zaragoza starting in May. The airline first established a presence in April 2002, and currently operates nine routes. In addition, Ryanair also has a new service from its Hahn base to Klagenfurt in Austria. Our website photograph shows Ryanair boss trying to get off a brand new Boeing 737 in an unorthodox manner. Whether he is also to jump the airline is something being speculated.
