BAA PLC moved a record 133.4m passengers through its seven airports in the year until the end of March which itself saw a 10.4% rise in traffic. Traffic growth was slow in the early months of the year due to the Iraq War and SARS but improved as the year progressed. Heathrow ended the year up 2.1% and passed the 64m passengers a year mark. Gatwick added 1.4% topping 30m whilst Stansted, up 15.9%, reached 19.4m. Edinburgh added 7.2% (7.6m), Glasgow rose by 3.1% (8.1m) and Southampton was up an astonishing 72.8% (1.4m). Aberdeen, down 1.6%, has suffered from a downturn in the oil industry.
