Qatar
Airways has today launched its new business class suite on services between
Doha and Milan with the entry into its fleet of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The suite transforms into a 79” fully flat
bed and seats are arranged in a herringbone, 1-2-1 configuration; each suite
has direct aisle access with a sliding door.
The
airline says the new suite is “a contemporary design that is truly personal,
spacious and functional, allowing you to relax in your own private sanctuary”.
The 787-9 aircraft will be used on services from
Doha to Athens, Barcelona, Dammam, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur and Madrid in addition
to the Milan services. It has a total passenger capacity of 311
seats: 281 in economy and 30 business class suites.
The airline has currently grounded its
fleet of Airbus A380s “as it is not commercially or environmentally justifiable
to operate such a large aircraft in the current market” and is operating using
a fleet of 53 Airbus A350 and 37 Boeing 787s.
Qatar Airways launched its previous business class product, the Q Suite, in 2017.
