QANTAS AIRWAYS is to suspend its direct twice-weekly services from Sydney to Rome via Singapore and commence codeshare flights four times each week to the eternal city via Hong Kong with Oneworld partner Cathay Pacific. The changeover takes place from 9 September at which point of time Qantas plans to operate 30 services per week to Europe ” 21 to London, seven to Frankfurt and two to Paris. Qantas has been flying to Rome since 1948. The airline is to maintain a sales office in Rome and monitor developments to determine whether services to Rome may be resumed in the future. http://www.qantas.com.au
