PERU bound travellers should be wary if they are intending to fly to the South American state. Last Thursday Lan Peru, part of Oneworld airline Lan Chile, was grounded for some hours following a court ruling that it contravened foreign ownership rules. The government then stepped in to allow flights. Controversy seems to be the name of the game regarding services out of Lima. Fierce competitor Nuevo Continente was also grounded in July. With an aggressive expansion programme the Chilean owned airline has overtaken Nuevo Continente as Peru”s largest airline.
